Brightbill to Return $21,000 From Donors With Gambling Ties
As reported by the Associated Press: "Senate Majority Leader David J. Brightbill has returned $21,000 in campaign contributions from donors with gambling ties. "Brightbill, who opposed the 2004 bill legalizing slot machines in Pennsylvania, said he gave back two checks for $10,000 each from D&L Realty, of Lackawanna County; he also returned a $1,000 check from the Pennsylvania Horsemen's Benevolent & Protective Association.
"Brightbill, R-Lebanon, said he returned the contributions to avoid any perception that the money would influence his future votes on slots-related legislation..."
