The economic crisis is arguably the largest security threat the casino industry has ever faced and it takes front and center stage at this year's World Game Protection Conference .
The Apache Gold Casino Resort announced cost-containment measures recently. Layoff notices were sent to approximately nine percent of its work force. Employees affected by the cuts work primarily in the Stronghold Golf Club and the casinos Entertainment Pavilion. In addition, the casino discontinued its Keno game and transferred those workers to other parts of the business operations.
